UWEZO means ‘Ability’ in Swahili! This is is the ultimate value we possess as an organization and the potential that need to be unleashed among children and young people with disabilities.
We collaborate with partners to safeguard children and youth with disabilities, ensuring they are protected from harmful practices and that inclusive safeguarding measures are established. We empower these youth to become agents of change through active participation in mentorship, civic engagement, and self-advocacy. Additionally, we work with parents and guardians to play a vital role in nurturing children with disabilities for a hopeful future, ensuring their rights are protected according to Rwandan law and international human rights treaties. Despite the challenges they face, we believe in their potential as future leaders and citizens.
